Costco Faves: Summer 2018

Source: costco.com

Guys, I think I’ve been sleeping on Costco a little to much lately. Ever since I got a Costco card a few years back I’ve made steady stream of visits stocking up on everything from avocados to toilet paper.

In recent months I’ve been shopping other departments more frequently, including beauty and apparel. But what I didn’t realize is just how much great stuff they actually sell, especially if you include the stock they have online at Costco.com. You actually don’t need a Costco membership to shop many of the items on their site, and shipping is often included in the sale price.

In the last month I’ve found quite a few gems that I wanted to share with you because not only are they great quality, they are also (in true Costco fashion) great deals as well. It’s worth noting that some items pop up and sell out rather quickly, so it’s best to check back often to see what new goodies they have!

#NSale Try-Ons Part 1!

There will come a day when I will post about something other than the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale…but today is not that day.

Today, I am sharing some try on photos of the first wave of shipments that arrived. There was a ton of great stuff and then there was some stuff I really hated. I show most of it here but there were a couple things so bad I didn’t even deem worthy to be photographed.

Since most of the bottoms that I had ordered are delayed in the mail, I decided to pair most things with a pair of TopShop Jamie jeans (in indigo)–similar to these ones in the sale, as well as these BP. Tonya Open Toe Mules (in blush). Sorry in advance about my slightly grimy mirror!

#NSALE: Public Access Starts TONIGHT!

NordysAnni

From tomorrow (July 20th) until August 5th, the hyped Nordstrom Anniversary Sale will be open to non-cardholders (and cardholders). Unfortunately, many items have long sold out or only are available in a few colors and sizes.

For those of you eagerly anticipating your turn at the good merch, I’ve updated my original list of picks to only include items that still have plenty of options in stock, and also added a few new picks (in green!)

If there’s something you had your eye on that is sold out, fear not. Every year there seem to be a ton of restocks the first day of Public Access. There will also be restocks randomly throughout the rest of the sale as people start returning things. In addition, I’ve had occasional success finding sold out items by shopping in store.

To be honest, at this point most of the stuff I ordered still hasn’t arrived yet, and I also haven’t had ample time to try out the things that have arrived. I’ll hopefully be able to give a final verdict on everything by the end of next week!

Onto the stuff!

Review: beautyblender

Ever since its creation in the early 2000s, the beautyblender has been lauded by professionals and amateurs alike for its ability to apply makeup flawlessly. It uses a sponge matrix and edgeless design to facilitate a smooth application while minimizing the amount of product needed. It comes in several sizes and colors for different uses and types of makeup.

I’ve wanted to try the beautyblender ever since I heard about it but hesitated for years due to the $20 price. I finally pulled the trigger due to the amazing deal Nordstrom had during their Anniversary Sale this year — 2 sponges and a solid cleanser for just $35 ($56 value)! It finally came in the mail about a week ago, and now I’m ready to share my thoughts after trying it for the last few days. Continue reading “Review: beautyblender”

Just in time for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opening up to non-cardholders, I wanted to share some of the things I got from the sale, as well as some other recommendations for things I don’t personally need right now. A few of these items are currently out of stock, but if you have your heart set on something, be sure to bookmark and check back often as items get returned and restocked. Also check in your local Nordstrom store as their stock varies widely from the site.

Onto the clothes! Continue reading “#NSALE Buys”

Review: Foreo Luna Mini

ForeoMini

You can get the Luna and Luna Mini at a rare discount during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, which goes until 8/7! Hurry and get yours soon as they are already selling out (looks like the pink color I own is already gone)!

I have normal to dry skin that is prone to dry patches and breakouts, so it very important to me to keep my skin clean and hydrated. For years I used makeup remover sheets out of convenience, but found that they were harsh on my skin, and often required 2-3 sheets to get everything off. I recently decided it was time to invest in skincare tools. Continue reading “Review: Foreo Luna Mini”
